I am a supporter of open source software (free software!) and all of the tools I use are free and downloadable off the web. I use Mozilla as an internet browser and Open Office for print design (and would recomend it to any writer). For coding I use HTML-Kit. And on the subject other great open-source products include Win-amp (for music listening) and Mozilla Thunderbird (for e-mail).
